Join us for our weekly compost build! We will be sorting organics generated on-island and from our off-island partners including residential food scraps from Lower East Side Ecology Center. Gain practical experience tracking food scraps, sorting out landfill items and recyclables from organics, and contributing to a community-scale composting system. We look forward to working towards collective environmental stewardship with you through composting together!
Our compost build activity takes place outside at a paved area of our site and will involve physical sorting of organics and a tour. We are happy to discuss possible accommodations. Prior to registration, please reach out to volunteer@earthmatter.org if you have accessibility concerns.
